Energy Generation Guide
Effects Of Global Warming Can Be Reduced With No Emissions Technology
By John M Saragunter
Effects of global warming are well known. It is commonly
acknowledged that we need to reduce our emissions from
industrial processes, from our cars and lower overall
pollution levels in order to reduce the chances of the
effects of global warming taking control of our living
planet.
You can take action by recycling your household waste,
giving your recyclables to a recycling collection service,
collecting you green waste and making compost to feed
your garden. You can generate electricity from low to
no emission sources to power your home with solar power
or wind power.
All we need to do, is educate our children to learn
to use new technology that does not pollute our environment.
Examples of new technology are all electric cars, solar
power and recycling our recyclables to conserve our
resources.
The Effects Of Global Warming
Environmental education has been going on for decades.
Nonetheless, it has taken on a new urgency in the last
couple of years. Only a little while ago, people were
still debating the causes of global warming. A lot of
folks simply didn’t want to admit that our actions have
consequences that were destroying the planet.
Although the extent of the effect of global warming
is still being debated, one thing is clear: it is much
worse than we had previously thought, and we had better
begin to prepare for it.
One of the most important things to do to combat the
effects of global warming is to educate kids. Adults
are very good at accepting things – that is our strength.
Kids, on the other hand, are good at challenging people
and making us think differently.
Train Citizens Of The Future To Make Sacrifices To
Save Planet Earth
Doing a unit on energy conservation, pollution, or
global climate change is a great way to help your students
become the informed citizens they will have to be. If
we are going to stop the ravages the planet is undergoing
now, we need to train citizens of the future who are
willing to make sacrifices in the name of saving the
planet Earth.
There are many different ways that you can address
the effects of global warming in the classroom. There
are plenty of environmental advocacy groups out there
that make excellent resources available for doing a
global warming lesson plan.
Asking An Expert To Speak To Your Class
Even better, you can hire an expert to come in and
speak to your class. In your community there is likely
to be an environmental education community center staffed
by people who are more than happy to talk to your students
about saving the environment. Best of all, they will
usually come in for free.
A great activity you can do on the effects of global
warming is to work with your students to decrease individual
energy consumption. Talk about all the ways that energy
is wasted – by leaving the heat on, by turning on lights
in rooms that you aren’t using, and all the other energy
wasters that many of us take for granted on a daily
basis.
Challenge your students to take stock of their own
families habits and try to make a change. Have them
monitor how much energy they use before and after they
start to conserve resources. Although it requires the
parents to participate, this is still an excellent project.
Most families will agree to do it, and your students
will benefit greatly.
Once the students take up this project, you may look
for solutions to decrease the effects of global warming.
One solution may be to stop driving gas guzzling cars
and replace them with hybrids or an all electric car.
Instead of driving to school and their parents driving
to work, they can take public transport or take up car
pooling, where a number of people are using the one
car to go to work.
Conserving And Recycling Our Resources
Another solution is to conserve and recycle our resources,
so that we do not have to dig into the ground to get
more resources. If you look at the garbage in the bin,
your kitchen waste like food leftovers can most likely
be placed on a compost heap, glass and plastic bottles
and paper materials can be recycled. Find out if there
is a recycling collection service in your area and ask
them to collect your recyclables.
You may even look at where you are getting your electricity
to power the homes your students live. They can replace
the source of electricity from fossil fuel burning power,
to clean, no emissions solar power. This solution may
help reduce the cost of electricity in the home, as
there are no ongoing electricity generation charges
if the electricity is generated from solar power and
solar power comes from free sun energy.
Although fossil fuels will eventually run out, energy
from the sun is infinite and it is free. Energy from
the sun does not have to be dug from the ground and
transported huge distances, like fossil fuels.
Using solar power, minimizing emissions, recycling
and conserving our resources helps reduce the chances
of the catastrophic effects of global warming overtaking
our planet.

Little Known Solar Facts.....
What is the Kyoto Protocol?
The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement
between nations that is aimed at reducing the consumption
of fossil fuels and reducing the amount of greenhouse gases.
Current theories state that the "Greenhouse
Effect" is a dire predicament Earth is facing
as rising temperatures occur all over the Earth.
This rise in temperature will allegedly cause
climactic changes and the extinction of many species.
What does it have to do with solar power?
It actually has quite a bit
to do with solar power. The whole thought process
behind using the sun is for a renewable energy
source that is completely environmentally friendly.
Science has proven that the byproduct of fossil
fuels is huge amounts of carbon dioxide and other
deadly gases. The goal of the Kyoto Protocol is
to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases and find
alternative energy sources.
