Global Warming Solar Power Energy Generation Guide
The Known Effects of Global Warming
By John M Saragunter
Global warming and its effect on planet Earth are
continuously under debate. Scientific studies have been
done but the results are under disagreement from different
groups with differing agendas. This battle has found
its way into the political arena and even our cinemas
as spokesmen seek to educate the public and garner support
from citizens around the world.
The global warming debate will continue until there
is absolute evidence of scientist’s claims. However,
there are some effects of global warming that are obvious
now.
The Effects Of Global Warming
No one is one hundred percent sure about what the effects
of global warming are. There is research done continuously
but there has to be more education for the public regarding
this issue. Spokesman Al Gore has taken a stance for
educating the public on the global warming debate but
there is doubt as to whether or not it is something
to be taken seriously.
There seems to be a need for public speakers when it
comes to any issue. If it is a political issue then
it is most certain to have celebrity’s speaking out.
Al Gore has made his stance on the effects of global
warming very obvious but is he right? The effects of
global warming are not fully known at this point. In
fact most people do not even know what global warming
is.
The Impact Of Global Warming
Before you can understand the impact of global warming,
you first have to know what global warming is. Global
warming comes about when the surface air and ocean temperature
of the Earth is warmed over a period of time. It can
occur naturally as it did in the past from global catastrophes
or the effects of global warming can occur from man-made
pollutions or emissions.
What Is Global Warming?
Global warming is a condition in which the Earth has
a rise in global temperatures. The measurements are
attained through studying near–surface air and ocean
temperatures. Unknown to some, this has occurred in
the past though scientists and researchers are not sure
as to what caused it. They believe that it could have
been a global catastrophe such as a meteor impact. Today’s
global warming is thought to be caused by emissions.
Emissions are believed to be the root cause of rising
global temperatures. As solar radiation is trapped by
the "blanket" of greenhouse gases, temperatures
rise. The measurements of temperature are taken in the
air and the ocean.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
These emissions are called greenhouse gas emissions
and are comprised mainly of carbon dioxide. Now, carbon
dioxide does occur naturally as a byproduct of animals
and humans. The over abundance of carbon dioxide is
the result of burning fossil fuels such as coal and
oil.
As more emissions are released a greenhouse effect
results. It can best be explained by imagining a blanket
covering the Earth. The blanket traps in solar radiation
and heat, thus not allowing it to escape.
Polar Ice Caps Melt
The effects of global warming are such that as global
temperatures increase, our polar ice caps melt. This
influx of fresh water can decrease the salinization
point of our oceans and can change weather patterns.
Other effects of global warming are the endangerment
of species that cannot acclimate themselves to increased
or decreased temperatures. It is a serious climate crisis
that scientists and environmental groups are concerned
with. There is a real need for legitimate research as
there are conflicting theories on global warming.
Kyoto Treaty To Limit Man–Made Emissions
In 1997 the Kyoto Treaty was signed into effect to
limit the man–made emissions produced by industry. It
has also allowed scientists to continue to work with
world leaders to determine if we are harming the environment
with our activities.
Hopefully soon, researchers will have the scientific
facts that they need in order to present factual and
scientific data to the world community.
Regulation Of Emissions
There have been regulations signed into effect as of
1997, namely the Kyoto Treaty. This treaty is meant
to regulate how much emissions are allowed by industrialized
countries. As the effects of global warming are studied,
there will be more research performed to determine what
countries and citizens can do to help protect our environment.
With new research, laws can be enacted to regulate emissions
and gases but until then, our future is still undetermined.
The Kyoto Treaty has taken a step in the right direction
in regards to regulating the emissions of gasses coming
from industrialized countries. But there needs to be
more answers on the global warming debate before we
can begin to understand the effects of global warming
and the impact it has on us.
When official research is read and approved on by a
vast majority of scientists and researchers from around
the world, then and only then, will progress in the
political arena move forward.

Little Known Solar Facts.....
What is the Kyoto Protocol?
The Kyoto Protocol is an agreement
between nations that is aimed at reducing the consumption
of fossil fuels and reducing the amount of greenhouse gases.
Current theories state that the "Greenhouse
Effect" is a dire predicament Earth is facing
as rising temperatures occur all over the Earth.
This rise in temperature will allegedly cause
climactic changes and the extinction of many species.
What does it have to do with solar power?
It actually has quite a bit
to do with solar power. The whole thought process
behind using the sun is for a renewable energy
source that is completely environmentally friendly.
Science has proven that the byproduct of fossil
fuels is huge amounts of carbon dioxide and other
deadly gases. The goal of the Kyoto Protocol is
to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases and find
alternative energy sources.
