Hybrid Technology Solar Power Energy Generation Guide
Hybrid Technology For New Hybrid Cars
By James J Dixon
Hybrid technology is increasing in popularity, especially
with the increase in gas prices and the reduction of
prices for hybrid cars. Mainstream motor vehicle companies
like Honda and Toyota already have hybrid cars on the
mainstream market and other companies have new hybrid
models and electric cars on the way, to meet the public
demand.
People are demanding more fuel efficient cars, so that
running costs are reduced. The old giant gas guzzlers
are on the way out and being replaced by new, smaller,
fuel efficient hybrid and electric cars.
This is the result of high fuel prices, people taking
a review of their options and turning to cars with hybrid
technology.
Rising Fuel Costs Has Increased Popularity Of Hybrid Cars
Hybrid technology has revolutionized the automobile
industry and hybrid cars are quickly taking over as
the next wave in the field. The popularity of hybrid
technology can be attributed to the rising fuel costs
as well as to the going down of hybrid cars prices.
In addition to the aforementioned, hybrid cars are
known to be user and environmentally friendly and perform
the same or better than their gas-powered contemporaries.
We cannot look at this technology without consideration
the pioneers in the industry; the Toyota Prius and the
Honda Civic.
More Manufacturers Are Introducing Hybrid Cars
Based on the miles per gallon as a measure of performance,
the Toyota Prius steals the show. Utilizing an electric
motor that is supported by a gasoline engine, it can
reach city driving speeds and the electric motor can
even run by itself and only needs the gas-powered engine
to give it an extra boost of power when necessary.
Some hybrid cars like the Saturn Aura Green Line are
very fuel efficient being twenty five percent more fuel
efficient than a conventional car that uses a gas-only
combustion engine. Volvo has already announced that
by 2012 it will introduce an electric that can serve
75 percent of daily transport and will only use the
diesel engine when traveling longer distances.
Improving The Miles Per Gallon
Hybrid technology still has a long way to go before
it officially jumps to the next wave in the automobile
industry; the pure electric car both for short and long
distances. In the meantime however, the current hybrid
technology has made it possible to drastically improve
the miles per gallon mileage of vehicles in addition
to reducing carbon emissions.
Plug-in hybrid cars are also expected to hit the market
in few years time and will allow owners to conveniently
recharge their cars at home via the regular wall socket.
Due to their high performance, these cars will also
make the driving experience even more enjoyable.
Net Emissions Close To Zero
Hybrid technology has made it possible to have cars
with carbon dioxide emissions close to zero. Furthermore
if the lithium-ion battery is charged using electricity
coming from a renewable source, the net emissions of
carbon dioxide will be close to zero.
To encourage people to buy cars that use hybrid technology,
governments and companies are offering people incentives
and other benefits. In addition to having tax relief,
buyers of hybrid vehicles will also see discounts in
the purchase prices.
As the performance of these cars continues to improve,
it is highly likely that in the future, cars with hybrid
technology will be mainstream.
Solar Cars Generating Their Own Solar Power
The future is not far away. There are now other cars
like solar cars, where the technology is continuing
to be improved and they will soon be another option
for a car without emissions. The solar car generates
its own electricity from a renewable energy source,
the sun, generating free electricity, reducing the running
costs of a solar car. Eliminating the dependency on
fossil fuels.
Every time you need some more power, you just let your
solar car out in the sun, generating more power, ready
to take you to your destination. No more expensive fossil
fuels to power the motor in your car.
Although hybrid technology is currently appealing to
many people, some people are concerned with the continued
use of fossil fuels as a back up option. As technology
is improved, the need for fossil fuels will be eliminated
and replaced with electric and solar cars.

Little Known Electric Car Facts.....
How does an electric car affect the environment?
The first thing that needs to be
addressed is that electric cars, depending on how the
fuel cells are created, are not entirely environmentally
friendly. Yes, they do not use gasoline and do not give
off any emissions but some models do have power grids
that use coal.
There are models of power grids
that are being developed that do away with the use of
coal. Even with using coal for the power grids, electric
cars are a vast, vast improvement over gasoline vehicles
and as a result are much better for the environment.
