Recycled Paper Lessens Impact On Trees
By Genevieve Thomson
Recycled paper as a recycled material is one of the
more popular options these days. It is so commonplace
that you may not realize, that the product you have
bought is manufactured with recycled paper. A lot of
newspapers, wrapping papers, phone books and cardboard
are made with recycled paper.
Once you know you have bought a product made with recycled
paper, you know you have saved a few more trees from
being cut down. We need trees to help keep our air clean,
so the less trees in our environment, the dirtier the
air.
It has been said, that all those trees being cleared
in the Amazon jungles are having a huge impact on global
warming, as these trees are the lungs of the earth.
Taking Care Of Our Planet And Our Natural Resources
When I was young, the idea of using recycled paper
became a very popular topic of conversation. This was
something that was done on occasion, but it was not
common by any means.
Though I was not old enough to really understand why
something like this could be so important, it was one
of the first clues I had that there were problems with
how we take care of our planet and our natural resources.
Back then, anything made with recycled paper was marked
very boldly, but today, it barely warrants a notice.
More Products Are Manufactured With Recycled Paper
More and more products are made with recycled paper,
and you would never know it. There are some who won’t
use it because they think it is dirty, but that seems
to be a false idea. I have watched programs on my television
that show how this paper is recycled, and it seems to
be almost cleaner than the fresh paper products.
It can be just as strong, and it saves so many trees
from being cut down. Some of the most common recycled
materials are boxes and newspapers, though there are
many other types that can be saved for reuse. You may
not want to recycle your grease-sodden paper plates,
but you should recycle magazines and even old books.
Some People Think Recycled Paper Doesn't Make Much Difference
There are some people I know that think recycled paper
doesn’t make much difference, but I would have
to say that I disagree on this. They simply shrug and
say that trees can be replanted, and that is true, but
how many of the ones chopped down are actually
replaced?
There are some great companies that do this, but there
are many more that do not. Trees supply us with one
of the most important things we need, and without oxygen
and clean air, we might find our days are numbered.
If you don’t feel comfortable using recycled paper
for your toilet paper or your paper plates, that is
fine. There are other things made with this type of
paper that you can use if you are worried about cleanliness.
There are many types of paper like printing or writing
paper you can buy.
Cardboard, Wrapping Paper And Newspapers Made With Recycled Materials
You can buy cardboard made from recycled paper, and
also things like wrapping paper and newspapers. Every
time you buy something made of this type of paper, and
every time you wrap up your newspaper for recycling,
you should know you are making a difference.
When you go to the shop to buy any paper product, you
should look to see if the product is manufactured with
recycled paper. There are so many new paper products
manufactured with recycled paper, that you should always
look for an alternative product with recycled materials.
Buying Products With Recycled Materials
There are many products you can buy that include recycled
products, including aluminum cans, glass bottles, newspapers
and magazines. You should always look for these products,
to help manufacturers creating these products, so that
products not including recycled materials can be phased
out.
Every time you use a product without recycled materials,
then new resources will need to be dug up and manufactured,
making an environmental impact, including stockpiling
in your landfills. Then your local municipality or waste
management service will need to look for more areas
to create new landfills.
You can make your impact, review your recycling options
and limit the need for new products, by using products
with recycled materials such as recycled paper.

Little Known Recycling Facts.....
What are the three "R’s?"
The three "R’s" would be: Reduce,
Reuse and Recycle. Reduce is using less non-biodegradable
substances that cannot be recycled. The second is to reuse
items such as plastic containers or appliances that can be
repaired.
The third is to recycle products so that they can be
given life again as something new. The way to tie all
three together is to buy recycled materials. This creates
an incentive for more people to recycle products because
they know that they will be used in a new way later
down the road.
