Renewable Energy Resources Available Today

By Genevieve Thomson

Renewable energy resources are becoming a popular option with many people these days. These are the days of global warming, rising electricity bills, rising gasoline costs, taking too much money out of your pocket and into the hands of polluters. People are now looking for renewable energy resources to replace old technology, where there are low to no emissions for a better environment.

Today, you can drive your car and fill it up at the gas station, but the cost of gas drives a hole in your pocket. Wouldn’t it better if you had a hybrid car or an all electric car?, where you did not burn as much gas and reduced pollution from your car polluting the atmosphere.

It may be time to think about our future generation. Will they be able to breathe the air, or will it be too polluted and poisonous? This may be the time you need to consider purchasing an all electric car, or even a hybrid, so that your car does not add to the pollution in the atmosphere.

You can also look at using alternative renewable resources to run your appliances in your home. There are many renewable resources available today, like solar power and wind power to generate electricity for your home and business.

Finding New Energy Sources

There has been a lot of talk about finding new energy sources, and a lot of effort put into finding ways to use older ideas in a better way. We have to worry about what we are doing to the planet as well as what high energy costs are doing to the economies of the strongest countries on the planet.

Waste is something we are also concerned with, and there are some renewable energy resources that can cut down on this, if not completely eliminate the problem. What faces us today is figuring out which ones work the best and which are going to cost the least.

Wind Power As A Renewable Energy Resource

One of the best renewable energy resources today is wind power. This is something that was first used a long time ago to produce energy, and is now being renewed in present day efforts. Some states, like New York, are putting these wind powered turbines up all over the place in hopes of generating a good amount of power.

These are not yet able to produce all the power that we need, and may never, but they are clean and easy. Wind is most definitely one of the best renewable energy resources. Wind is free, even if the turbines are not.

Corn As An Alternative Fuel

Another of the renewable energy resources that we are working on in present time is fuel made from corn. This is something that can be produced over and over again, but some do worry about the cost to the economy.

Corn has been used for food for a very long time, and using it for fuel can put a strain on the amount that we can produce. As a result, we are finding it to be a cleaner fuel and power alternative, but there are shortages that are going to affect, if they are not already, the costs of some of the foods we buy in the stores.

Water And Steam Power

There are even more renewable energy resources out there that are being tested and considered for ways to fuel vehicles and to power homes and businesses. One of these is water and steam power, which is something that we used to power trains and cars in the past. Solar power is also another good alternative. The trick is to find a way to use these with little impact on the environment.

There are going to be other renewable energy resources that come about soon, making this an exciting time in the history of the world. Things could be changing rapidly, and that will certainly be something amazing to witness.

Solar Power Sourced From Free Sun Energy

One of the more popular renewable energy resources that can be used today, without affecting our food or water supplies is solar power sourced from free sun energy. Energy is gathered from the sun and transformed to electricity to power our homes and businesses. You can use solar power to heat your hot water, to turn on the lights at home and run your home appliances.

Using solar power helps reduce your electricity bills, as solar power is sourced from free sun energy, so once you pay for the installation of a solar power system in your home or business, there are no ongoing electricity generation fees. A lot of the manufacturers of these systems are offering 10 to 15 year warranties, some warranties are even longer, as these systems are virtually maintenance free.

Unlike the chimney stacks you see at coal fired or nuclear power stations, there are virtually no emissions when generating solar power.

As you can see, today there are plenty of alternative energy resources you can use in your home and business.

Little Known Alternative Energy Facts.....

Can I use alternate energy for my vehicle?
Yes. In the past five years many vehicle manufacturers have come to realize the need for cars that do not run primarily on gasoline or diesel.

Most companies have produced a hybrid which combines the use of gas and electricity to power the vehicle. The United States took it a step farther by offering tax breaks to owners who purchased an environmentally safer car.
