Save Energy Solar Power Energy Generation Guide
Save Energy With Energy Efficient Products
By Gerard J Howson
Save energy tips can help reduce your energy costs
in the bathroom. The amount of time you spend in the
bathroom, may account for a large amount of your daily
energy consumption.
Some of the energy suckers in your bathroom may include
the shower, heating and lighting. You can review a number
of different products that can help to reduce your energy
needs in the bathroom.
Your bathroom may be the smallest room in the house,
but arranging for the installation of some of these
energy saving products or making them part of a larger
renovation plan, over a a period of time, will reward
you with reduced utility bills.
Showers With Low Flow Shower Heads
Showers are more energy efficient than taking a bath,
as a lot less hot water is being used. Taking a shower,
helps to reduce the amount of energy needed to heat
the water in your shower.
You can save more energy, by arranging for the installation
of energy-saving products. One of the simplest products
to install, is a low flow shower head.
Reducing The Amount Of Water You Need
You can buy a low-flow showerhead in most hardware
stores that sell plumbing supplies. The differences
in pricing are often due to the cosmetic appearance
of the showerhead.
By making further reductions in the amount of water
you need in your shower, you are reducing the amount
of water you need to heat water.
Stabilize Water Temperature With A Temperature Control Valve
The second shower device that you can arrange for the
installation to your shower, is a temperature control
valve. This valve, will automatically mix hot and cold
water for you, using the same water temperature for
each shower and the removal of the need to adjust your
shower water taps.
Once you are happy with the water temperature, then
try dropping it a degree. You may notice the change
in temperature of the first shower, you probably will
not notice it in the next shower. A reduction in water
temperature by even one degree gives you huge energy
savings over a number of showers.
Compact Fluorescent Bulbs
Although not everyone likes compact fluorescent bulbs,
especially in the bathroom, they can help reduce your
energy costs. Some of these bulbs may take a little
longer to warm up, while others do not give you a true
light to set up your makeup.
Still, when compared with a 15 watt bulb to use a 60
watt bulb, then you have already cut your energy consumption
by 75%. You do not need professional lighting for brushing
teeth or washing your hands, and you can always use
a little make-up mirror that is properly illuminated,
to ensure your eye liner and lipstick match correctly.
Feeling Warm In The Bathroom
Stepping on a cold tile floor in the morning, with
a hard, freezing surface send chills up the legs and
into the rest of the body. The heater may be blowing
hot air into the bathroom, but the heat rises, so that
all the hot air flowing in the bathroom rises to the
ceiling, leaving a cold floor.
If you are planning on retiling your floor, then consider
installing a radiant heating system under the tiles.
This will not only let your feet feeling warm, but the
heat source below the floor, will allow the heat to
rise steadily through the bathroom, so your body feels
the warmth as you go out of your pajamas and under the
shower.
Saving Energy And Reducing Your Utility Bills
Some energy saving bathroom products are certainly
intended as part of a major home renovation. If you
are tearing your bathroom apart, then you should consider
installing eco-friendly plumbing and radiant heat flooring
as part of your bathroom project.
Even if you do not plan on overhauling your bathroom,
you can save energy by using easy to purchase energy
saving products including low-flow shower heads and
compact fluorescent light bulbs to help reduce your
utility bills.

Little Known Solar Facts.....
What is the initial cost of switching over to
using alternate energy?
Switching over depends on
what exactly you are switching.
Houses that have to be retrofitted using solar
panels to generate electricity can be quite costly.
Vehicles are cheaper to retrofit but require work.
The costs can vary for anything switched over.
The best way to get an estimated idea is to seek
out a contractor or mechanic that is for using
alternate energy sources.
