Wind Energy Source Is Renewable And Clean

By J K Hellios

Wind energy as an energy source is becoming a popular option, as wind power generators and wind farms are becoming more common. The days of generating electricity from fossil fuels and polluting the atmosphere with greenhouse gases are numbered.

Governments, companies and people around the world are looking to review their options for renewable and low emission energy sources like wind and solar, to replace the old power generation systems. They are looking for renewable systems with low emissions that will not pollute the atmosphere with greenhouse gasses.

Wind And Sun Energy Are Renewable Energy Sources

Wind energy is a renewable energy source, So is sun energy for solar power. This means, these sources will never run out, unlike fossil fuels which are being rapidly depleted. With fossil fuels, they have to be dug out of the ground and transported long distances, generating greenhouse gases in the process. You can trap solar energy to generate solar power with solar panels on your roof.

Renewable and clean energy sources like solar and wind energy is what we need to reduce emissions and lower the amount of greenhouse emissions.

Connecting With Wind And Solar Power

Wind is one of the cleanest, if not cleanest, renewable energy sources available to us. What most people don’t know is it is also the fastest growing energy sector. Wind is an indirect version of solar power.

Different surfaces on the Earth react differently to being hit by sunlight, particular in regards to heat. As sunlight heats up surfaces, they warm up at different rates. The surround air also warms up at different rates, fertilizing the wind process.

A Cheap And Clean Energy Source

Temperatures over a body of water like a lake will always be cooler than temperatures over rocky ground. Hot air rises and cool air rushes into fill such voids. As this process occurs, the rushing air manifests as wind and an incredibly cheap and clean energy source.

The fact that wind is a naturally occurring event makes it a great energy source. Consider the following:

1. Wind is a renewable energy source because it will exist as long as sunlight beats down on us.

2. Wind has been used by man as an energy source ever since we’ve sailed boats.

3. The first windmills were used to turn wheels to grind grain in Iran.

4. American colonist used windmills to move water, grind grain and cut wood.

5. Wind energy harnessed by windmills was a dominant source of energy in rural America in the 1920s.

6. In modern times, California is the biggest user of wind power and produces twice as much electricity as any other state.

7. Modern windmills actually come in two forms, vertical and horizontal models.

8. Horizontal windmills are the stereotypical version that comes to your mind when the word is mentioned.

9. Vertical mills look like upside down egg beaters, but are hypnotic when they spin.

10. Unlike traditional utilities, most energy produced by wind is done by private businesses and sold to utilities through an electric grid hookup.

11. Wind power in the U.S. generates a whopping 17 billion kilowatts per year, more than enough to provide all electrical needs for the city of Chicago.

12. More than 30 states have wind farms generating and supplying electricity to utility companies.

13. California, Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wyoming are the dominant forces in producing energy from wind.

14. The biggest energy producer from wind is Germany, which is also dominant in solar power production.

For many, these wind findings will be a surprise. The sole fact that there is enough power produced by wind energy to handle a city the size of Chicago is pretty impressive. As we move into the 21st century, new technology is heading in the direction of creating wind energy platforms for individual residences.

Using A Clean And Renewable Energy Source

As you may have noticed, wind power has been used for years and as fossil fuel resources are being depleted, and prices for energy from fossil fuels continues to rise, many people are looking for alternative energy sources like wind and the sun. These sources are free, as there are no ongoing power generation fees when using your own wind power generator on your property.

There may be charges when sourcing power from wind farms, but these power sources are renewable and will never run out. Just like sun energy is renewable to generate solar power.

Reducing Your Electricity Bills With Free Electricity

With solar power, you can generate free electricity using your own solar power system in your home. After you pay for the installation of a solar power system in your home, there are no ongoing solar power generation fees. You can power all your appliances, turn on the lights in your home with free electricity from solar power.

Burning fossil fuels to generate electricity is becoming too expensive, and it may be about time you considered using free electricity from a renewable source like sun energy. Alternatively, you can look at using electricity from a clean and renewable source, like a wind energy source.

Little Known Wind Power Facts.....

Wind energy has become a topic for debate. Though it costs quite a lot to initially set up the wind farms to power homes and businesses, in the long run it begins to pay off.

Many cities and countries around the globe are looking at ways they can help the Earth’s environment and using the wind is one of the best answers besides solar power. Fossil fuels cannot be relied upon for future use for heating and cooling your home. It is time to start thinking about using the wind as a source of energy.
